Beer-battered Cod Recipe

Beer-battered Cod Recipe: A flavorful journey! Learn to cook golden brown cod fillets with a twist. Perfectly crispy & delicious.

Ingredients

  • 4 Cod fillets about 4-6 ounces each.
  • 300 ml Vodka
  • 1 Teaspoon
  • Baking powder
  • 400 g Flour
  • 1 TBSP Honey
  • 300 ml Pilsner or Lager

Method

  1. Take those fish pieces and sprinkle some seasoning on them. Stick them in the fridge for about an hour. This helps the fish become firmer and soak up the flavors.
  2. Get a bowl and put in all the batter ingredients, except for the beer. Save the beer until the end. Pour in the beer and give it a good mix. It’s okay if there are a few lumps. Cover the bowl and put it in the fridge so it stays cold.
  3. After the fish has chilled in the fridge for an hour, it’s time to fry. Heat up some oil to around 350°F or 220°C. Dip the fish in the batter, then gently put it in the hot oil. When the batter sets, add a spoonful of batter on top of the fish to make it extra crispy. Cook the fish until it’s a lovely golden brown all over and cooked inside.
  4. Time to enjoy your masterpiece! Get some chips, tartar sauce, a lemon wedge, and a splash of malt vinegar. Put it all together, and there you have it – a tasty meal to savor!
